About Kristin Hanson
Kristin Hanson has been creating jewelry since she was a child. Her transforming designs won her the 2007 Couture Award as one of America's top designers. Kristin's art and dedicated work as an educator have evolved to international recognition as a leader in the fine jewelry industry.
Kristin began at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston leaving to study with legendary master goldsmith Harold O'Connor in Colorado. Kristin further pursued master training at the Alchimia School of Contemporary Jewelry in Florence, Italy. Under the tutelage of Giampaulo Babetto, Kristin discovered a love of architecture and a passion for luxury. She returned to her New York origins and launched her first public collection at Bergdorf Goodman.
In 2006, starting out with one bench in her Brooklyn apartment, Kristin Hanson founded Fine Jewelry School, the fastest growing international school of its kind. Since then Kristin and her team have taught over 1000 students from all over the world, learning the art of jewelry and entrepreneurship. In October 2011, Hanson received the VIV Magnificent Woman, Humanitarian Award.
Recently, Kristin Hanson opened the world’s first Natural Color Diamond atelier in NYC. Kristin Hanson Atelier is open by Appointment Only.
